My ears ring for silence. Cacophonous violence.
My ears ring for peace but the sounds never cease.
My eyes cry for darkness. White stinging sharpness.
Flickering’s merciless, pounding without rest.
A deadening shedding, a lead-heavy shielding,
my pathways are closing, are shutting down, dozing.
No longer alert, an assault on the senses, on sensing responses,
pinching receptors and soft steps.
